The first hurricane of the month was in the Gulf and our retail client was stocking up on hurricane preparedness inventory. Their distribution center was over capacity creating a warehousing dilemma. Routine inventory was stocking the warehouse to capacity leaving no room for new inventory required for post-hurricane needs.
All the customer’s trailers were needed to move goods from the warehouse to the individual stores and the warehouse was already at overcapacity. Worse, the post-hurricane inventory was arriving that day.
Storage Trailers LLC solved the problem, supplying dock high dry van semi-trailers, with a mixture of roll doors and swing doors to meet the customer’s specific on-site needs, to the customer’s distribution center. The trailers were immediately parked at the dock doors and excess inventory was loaded. Most railers were moved away from the dock for storage in the distribution center’s on-site parking lot but several were moved for short term storage at one of the multiple Storage Trailers, LLC secure storage facilities.
Thanks to Storage Trailers, LLC’s flexible temporary storage with no long-term contracts, the customer only had to utilize the semi-trailers for storage for exactly as long as they needed to meet their short-term storage needs. The inventory was safe, secure, dry, and ready for distribution once the hurricane passed through.
